Roulette - What You Need To Know About Casinos

In earlier times, casinos referred to a small villa or outhouse built on the grounds of a larger Italian villa or palazzo. These were built specifically to house entertaining activities. Since the 19th century, the meaning of the word casino changed completely. Casinos then included public buildings where leisure activities such as gambling and sports were housed.

A casino refers to a building that allows all sorts of gambling games and activities. Players may gamble by playing slot machines or board games. Whether a player plays directly with the casino or with another fellow player, the casino has a predetermined stake in all the winnings. In the latter case, the set amount is known as commission.

It is important to realize that casinos do not create wealth. Casinos by themselves cannot generate revenue. However, they are institutions where wealth is usually transferred. In the gambling business, a set amount of money is spent with the possibility of winning more money. In relation to casino income, most of it is money that has transferred from the players' hands to the casino.

Spending in casinos leaves people with less money to use in other markets. This directly affects the economy of the players, who may be from any part of the world. Gambling is a habit-forming activity. At times, this addiction could lead to bankruptcy. Some people are known to have resorted to criminal activities, including theft and burglary to support their fondness for gambling.

The possibility of easily multiplying their wealth attracts people to casinos. At times, mere curiosity makes people enter a casino for the first time. Other people may just do it for some quick cash. A number of people start gambling with minimal cash at first. Hence the chances of suffering greater losses are reduced. However, a good winning streak can make a person an addict for life.

Roulette - Roulette 101 - Play Like a Pro with 4 Easy Tips

Roulette is a simple game that can yield high profits for a gambler. The house edge is very high in the game of Roulette, so the best option is to have a complete understanding of the game. A little luck never hurts either. Following these four easy tips can increase one's chances of success with roulette.

1. Know the basics. Understanding the basics of Roulette is essential for anyone who wants to master the game. The object of Roulette is to pick the winning number that appears on the Roulette wheel. Players can bet combinations of numbers, choose the color, or choose whether the number will be odd or even. There are two types of Roulette wheels. The American wheel has 38 numbers because of a (00) slot. The European wheel has 37 numbers (0-36). In America, the house edge is 5.26 percent, which is significantly higher than Europe's 2.63.

2. Understand betting in Roulette. There are many bets that can be made in Roulette. The two types of bets are inside bets and outside bets. A Straight Up bet is a bet on a single number. This risky bet pays 35 to 1. Split Bet is a wager on two numbers that pays 17 to 1. While safer than a Straight Up bet, the odds are still against the player. Street bets or a line bet is a bet on a whole row of numbers. This bet pay out is 11 to 1. A Corner bet or Quad bet occurs when the chip is placed so it touches the four corners of the numbers being bet. This bet pays 8 to 1. The Basket bet is the worst bet in Roulette because the house edge is 7.89 percent. It is a five number bet on zero, double zero, and numbers-1-2-3. This bet pays 6 to 1. The final inside bet is a double street bet which is a wager on six numbers paying 5 to 1. The outside bets are the Dozens bet and the Column bet, which are both 12 number bets paying 2 to 1.

3. Know when to bet and how much to bet. The dealer has to keep the wheel moving at all times and spins the wheel in the opposite direction of the ball movement. While the ball is still moving one can place bets. Many players place bets while the ball is in motion because they can grasp a more accurate idea of where the ball will land. Be cautious when doing this, however, because when the ball starts to slow down the dealer will call out "no more bets." The size of your bet can greatly affect your overall performance. Some players bet too high, which is not advisable in such a game as Roulette. The house edge is high, and so the best bets are moderate. A mass amount of moderate wins is just as good as one big win. However, a few moderate losses are certainly better than one big loss.

4. Play at full roulette tables. Playing at a full table will give you about 30 spins an hour, thusly reducing the time in which your money is exposed to the brutal house edge. Also, do not worry if someone else has already placed chips on a number, there are different colored chips in Roulette so you can place your bet on someone else's.

There is no sure fire way to win roulette because it is largely a game of chance. However, understanding the game, and being a wise gambler can help increase one's chances for wins. Full Roulette tables are always the best, and lower risk bets can amount to more than high-risk bets. In the end, Roulette is a game of chance; so a bit of luck is always a good thing to have.

Roulette - Do You Think You Can Walk Away With A Free Bonus From A Casino?

So you are a gambler. What do you look for when you choose an online casino? The best sign up bonus, so do I, it's in our nature as human beings to hunt for the best bargain.

Before you sign up, do you ever stop and think: why is this company offering me '500 to play in this particular casino? Are they not worried about losing money?

Well, of course, there is the competition between all the casinos, whoever offers the biggest bonus attracts more customers. O. K., so now imagine all the customers who sign up are only in for the free money: the casino is not making any money, or is it?

Well the truth is, they are not giving you that money; if you read the small print on the promotions' terms and conditions, you will find out that in most online casinos, you must wager at least 20 or 30 times the amount of your deposit plus the bonus in order to claim your winnings. So let's say you find a good deal: you deposit '100 and get '200 free sign up bonus, that's '300, if you are very lucky you will win but you must gamble at least 20 times x '300 = '6000 in order to be able to withdraw any amount bigger than your initial deposit.

It gets better (for the casino, of course): in most casinos, the games where you would stand a chance to actually win some money (like Poker, Blackjack, Craps, Roulette) do not count towards wagering requirements! So if you think you can win '6000 on slots, go ahead, but personally, I would rather blow my money on a nice holiday in the South of France!

Still want that free money? Well of course, there is a way to get it, but if you are looking for a quick buck, stop reading this, because you are not going to like it. It takes a good deal of discipline and patience.

First you need to find the bonus that is the most attractive and a good winning system. Even though they are the ones that count towards your wagering requirements, you need to avoid slot games at first. Read the "terms and conditions" and check how much money you need to wager in order to withdraw your bonus and the winnings from that bonus (I will call this amount WG to be more practical).

When you reach WG (remember you still have contributed 0 towards this wagering requirement), then you need to win some more (the amount you want to withdraw from you account + the amount you need in order to keep a sufficient bankroll on your account, or Cash + Bankroll).

When you have done this, you can have some fun : pick your favourite slot game and blow your WG on it (you never know, you might hit the jackpot in the process). Be careful not to get carried away and blow your whole balance, keep counting how much you wager.

Now you can withdraw your money (= Cash: this needs to be over your initial deposit, double would be good) and with the Bankroll you have left in your account, reapply your winning system to win some more money.

Now, let's see what the casinos have to say about that!
